Bio
I'm Emil Lombardo, an Argentinian photographer based in London and Paris. I began as a self-taught photographer, dedicating years to refining my craft and deepening my understanding of photography. This journey led me to pursue a Photography MA at the Royal College of Art, from which I graduated in 2021.
My work focuses on people and their stories, particularly those often overlooked. I explore LGBTQ+ rights—especially trans issues—and how they intersect with immigration, class, and other aspects of identity. Recently, I’ve expanded to projects on inequality and poverty, highlighting the deep interconnection of struggles for liberation.
Despite the complexity of the issues I tackle, my primary interest remains people. I am committed to using portraiture and documentary photography to tell stories with dignity and respect, aiming not just to raise awareness but to inspire hope.
More recently, I've begun to pivot towards photojournalism, driven by a desire to apply my narrative skills to current events and pressing issues. I'm eager to expand the reach of my work, hoping to capture and engage a wider audience with stories that matter.
